Uncertainty is an essential property of rock mechanics and engineering, which great significance to excavation, design, control engineering. In this study, innovative framework the reliability-based design was developed for tunnel under uncertainty. The convergence-confinement method used characterize interaction mechanism between support structure surrounding mass. Artificial bee colony (ABC) adopted solve optimization problem in design. probabilistic properties strength failure envelope were obtained based on triaxial compression test data using Bayesian method. reliability evaluated abovementioned analysis A circular illustrate framework, procedure presented detail. time rockbolt installed, thickness shotcrete, length rockbolt, circumferential space, longitudinal space determined met constraints index.
